Macondo Latin Bistro in Downtown Houston serves the best and freshest dishes featuring the flavors and signature culinary delights of the owner’s homeland.
Some of the house specialties are the Colombian empanadas made of a cornmeal crust filled with traditionally seasoned ground beef and potato and the Pollo Guisado chicken legs in a traditional Colombian style Creole potato sauce. Most platters are served with rice, beans and your choice of maduros (french fries) or sweet plantains.
The bistro has a full coffee and juice bar serving delicious imported Colombian coffee, flavored lattes, and liquados all in a quaint, intimate ambiance with the soft Latin sounds of vallentos and bossa nova music playing in the background.
The cafe offers breakfast daily with an expanded menu of items from specialty egg platters to pancakes and French toast to omelets and sandwiches. The lunch and dinner menu offers everything from soups and salads to sandwiches, combo platters and desserts. All menu items are moderately priced and available for take out.
